Kuchlong Kuchlong Wins!

Omaha, NE – (February 7th) – On Saturday night the Next Edge Academy Team went down to down to Omaha to Ring Wars an All Muay Thai event held by Dillon Brothers Harley Davidson. This event is one of the premier Muay Thai events in the Midwest. In his first Muay Thai fight ever Kuchlong Kuchlong fought Eric Carraher, a fighter out of Omaha.

Kenton Krueger had this to say about the event and Kuchlong’s performance! “A near capacity crowd at the Tip Top Ballroom in Omaha was treated to 10 amateur Muay Thai kickboxing matchups Saturday night at Ring Wars IV. The crowd, which included Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter Houston Alexander and Victory Fighting Championship Heavyweight Champion Abe Wagner, was vocal throughout the night. Event organizer and coach for many of the fighters, Aaron Cerrone, was happy with the quality of fights. “We’ve had nothing but good comments from the sponsors and fans,” Cerrone said. “Plus the visiting teams absolutely love our event.” The evening was capped by a brutal three round slugfest between Brandon Atkins and Quinton O’Brien in the main event. Cerrone noted that as far as technique and experience levels, the final few fights were the best of the night. “You could definitely see the difference in level of technique and experience of the fighters,” Cerrone said. “Everything is much more crisp and clean, and their composure is very calm and methodical.”

Kuchlong Kuchlong, fighting out of South Dakota, was awarded “Fighter of the Night.”

Kuchlong Kuchlong vs. Eric Carreher

Both fighters wasted no time in attacking, each landing several kicks and punches. Kuchlong landed a nice combo but didn’t stop Carreher from continuing his attack until he was caught with another punch that did some damage. Carreher continued to attack, but Kuchlong dominated near the end of round one. The start of round two saw both fighters attacking with Kuchlong maintaining control, putting an end to things by TKO stoppage. Kuchlong def. Carreher by TKO stoppage in round two.”

We at Next Edge want to congratulate Kuchlong on his excellent victory and make sure to tell him great job when you see him!
